Thank You For Your Patience

“Thank You For Your Patience” is a feature film that follows two strangers as they get to know each other after being forced to commute to work in downtown NYC on foot. The director took a lot of tonal cues from classic Hollywood musicals, romances, and specifically: Pixar films. To capture the unique blend of whimsy and wonder from an animated adventure and the innate melancholy and dreaminess of early morning New York, I only used instruments I’d heard myself on the subways and sidewalks: bowed saws, steelpan drums, solo upright basses and accordions, etc. Combining this palette of sounds with recurring musical motifs that travel and evolve with our characters, like a classic musical, was a beautiful challenge; and one I was happy to rise to.
