“Linny” is a short interview with a man living on the streets in New York. Despite having, in his words, a life of many trials and tribulations, his resolute optimism about the power of forgiveness and empathy moved me deeply. When asked to set his words to music, I knew above all that it needed to match Linny’s sage-like elegance and insightfulness. A duet between piano and flute felt like the only fitting tribute to such an admirable human being.
